Wolverine
(Brown Suit)
While the 1:18 scale Marvel Universe line had some real gems, they always managed to miss the mark when it came to Wolverine. There were several versions of him but they were either too tall or oddly proportioned, and lacked good articulation. When my long time customer and friend (you may know him as DDay) decided he wanted a 90's tiger stripe version of Wolvie, I jumped on the opportunity to make a piece for my personal collection in his classic brown suit.
If you follow my work you know I typically keep my recipes fairly simple and then add a butt-load of sculpt and details. But, there wasn't much of the original figure, or any single figure, I found useful. So I went on a journey, along with DDay, to find the perfect recipe. And because I love variety (aka I hate repetition), we found two! The recipe for the brown suit is as follows:
The Tiger Stripe version has a similar recipe but with a different torso. Check that out here!
With that crazy kit-bash, you get all the articulation you could ever want in a figure this small along with the bulk and proportions that is a must for Wolverine. I finished him off with my typical airbrush/hand brush paint job, adding subtle shading and details where possible.
I did a series of live videos which go indepth with just about everything I did to make this figure. Go check them out on my YouTube channel. If I can break 1,000 views on each video I'll start doing videos for every figure I make!
