Agent Venom
This one was extremely challenging as he was almost an entirely sculpted over. Everything you see was either modified, made from scratch or sculpted.
Recipe is as follows:
Everything you see in white in the WIP pictures below was fully sculpted with Aves and/or scratch built. Each one of the spikes is the tiniest tip of a toothpick or sculpted. His armor was sculpted with the venom symbol in mind so the symbol itself ties in with each groove and strap. What made it even more difficult was I gave his armor a texture (similar to the Marvel select version) which meant I could not sand or smooth out any of the sculpting. His shoulder pads are attached to his upper torso/trap area via a flexible vinyl strip which allows them to move freely while not inhibiting his arm movement. His elbow and knee pads are attached directly to their respective joints allowing them to bend and move freely as well. Tiny holes were drilled around his neck piece and under his upper torso to attach the bendable tendrils. Each hole was located carefully to remain hidden when the tendrils are not being used.
I wrapped everything up with a full paint job and a few coats of dullcoat with highlights of semi-gloss enamel. I wanted his armor to be slightly shiny, as the Venom symbiote is typically portrayed "oily" but I didn't want him to look like he had some weird vinyl fetish.
I'm pretty happy with how it came out but boy, am I glad it's done!
Recipe is as follows:
- Head - FF Spidey with re-sculpted eyes
- Alt. Head - Commander Rogers with his nose shaved down and sculpted symbiote crawling around his face.
- Body - Black Bolt
- Hands - Modified Drax hands (why Drax has the perfect trigger fingers I'll never know)
- Feet - Commander Rogers (cause I wanted combat boots)
- Belts, holsters, weapons - Punisher, Commander Rogers, random G.i.Joe fodder
- Tendrils - Twist ties and copper wire dipped in Plasti-dip then painted (Thanks to Jin S. for that trick)
